Nebraska OL commit explains why Florida State keeps him interested

2027 four-star offensive lineman Timi Aliu is currently committed to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. However, he still keeps in contact with multiple schools, and the Florida State Seminoles are one of the main programs at the top of that list.

Aliu was in Tallahassee for the Seminoles' season-opening win against the New Mexico State Aggies. It was his second game visit to see FSU, as his first came last November when they played the Virginia Tech Hokies. He says that he's still fully committed to Nebraska, but he talked about why Florida State remains in the mix.

"It's really just going to see football. I like hearing the band playing. It's all the things that come with game day. I love the energy they had at Floria State. They were locked in to play the game and ready to go," Aliu told 247Sports.

The 247Sports composite rankings have Aliu listed as the No. 292 overall player in the country and the No. 28 offensive tackle. He's ranked as the state of Georgia's No. 31 prospect.

One of FSU's arch rivals, the Florida Gators, are also trying to pull Aliu away from Nebraska. A trip to Gainesville could very well happen this weekend, but he's working to confirm that at the moment. He's also looking to attend another game in Lincoln to see Nebraska before the season ends, and a visit with the Georgia Bulldogs is also a possibility.

Florida State needs to pick up its recruiting when it comes to offensive linemen, which makes a player like Alui an understandable target for them to pursue.
