USA TODAY Sports made another change to its latest bowl game projections on Tuesday. The Huskers are now projected to take on No. 15 Kentucky in the Music City Bowl.
This comes after Nebraska was paired up with Missouri for the Music City Bowl last week. The Tigers have moved to the Citrus Bowl against Iowa following a 27-6 win over Texas A&M.
Nebraska is 5-1 following a gut-punching loss to then-No. 7 Indiana. The Huskers held a 17-6 lead over the Hoosiers early in the fourth quarter. But Indiana roared back on two big passing plays to win 20-17.
Now Nebraska continues its gauntlet, heading up to Oregon before facing Ohio State and Iowa later this season. The Huskers also got Washington, Illinois and Rutgers on the schedule, teams that could become trap games if allowed.
Kentucky is also 5-1 but is now No. 15 following a massive 35-34 overtime upset win against then-No. 10 LSU. The victory marked the Wildcats' fourth straight on the season and their second top-25 win.
Kentucky defeated then-No. 9 Texas A&M 31-21 after getting bulldozed by then-No. 12 Alabama 45-17. The Wildcats' schedule also remains treacherous with Oklahoma, Tennessee and Missouri waiting for them.
