Nebraska football appears to be close to landing a transfer portal quarterback. Predictions were put in for the Huskers to land Notre Dame quarterback Kenny Minchey. On3’s Sean Callahan, Bryan Munson, Tom Loy, Pete Nakos, and Steve Wiltfong all put in predictions for the quarterback.

This move would be the program's first addition to the transfer portal cycle. Minchey is a high-upside quarterback. He entered the 2024 season as part of a crowded quarterback room that included Riley Leonard, Steve Angelli and CJ Carr.

The 2025 season saw Minchey in a tight quarterback competition with Carr. The latter ultimately won the job. Minchey had 196 passing yards on the season. Nebraska is on the search for a quarterback following the transfer of Dylan Raiola.

This would be a solid addition to the quarterback room, which needs an overhaul. This may not be the only addition to the room, in what is sure to be a busy couple of days for the program.
