Nebraska running back Jamal Rule named Week 1 Standout

Nebraska football running back Jamaal Rule was named one of Charles Power’s Week 1 True Freshman Standouts. Rule headlines the list, alongside USC wide receiver Trent Mosley, Ohio State corner Jay Timmons, Tennessee quarterback Fazion Brandon, and Washington defensive lineman Derek Colman-Brusa.

This is the second accolade this week for Rule, who was also named the Big Ten freshman of the week on Monday. The running back had a tremendous game against Ohio on Saturday, carrying the ball 15 times for 122 yards.

Rule also caught two passes for 47 yards and a touchdown. In total, he accumulated 169 yards and three touchdowns from the line of scrimmage, in what was a big day.

Rule was certainly able to set the tone for the Huskers both on the field and in the running back room. It will be fun to see what he does in a follow-up act this week against Bowling Green.
