In the new age of NIL in both college and high school sports, the top players partnering with the biggest brands in the country has become common place.
On Thursday, July 16, Nike announced that it had inked an NIL deal with 19 of the biggest names in both high school and college football.
In total, 11 high school players were announced as part of the deal, including eight seniors and three of the nation’s best juniors. The deal comes after nearly all of the high school players stood out during The Open Finals in Oregon at the end of June.
“Nike’s football roster has always been defined by the athletes who are shaping where the game goes next,” Nike executive vice president of global sports marketing Ann Miller said in a release. “These signings reflect our commitment to serving the best football talent at every level with the support, innovation and partnership they need to reach their full potential on the field and away from the game.”
The seniors that signed include Alabama five-star quarterback commit Elijah Haven (AL), Clemson five-star receiver commit Jamarin Simmons (FL), Georgia five-star tight end commit Jaxon Dollar (NC), UCLA five-star cornerback commit JuJu Johnson (CA), Oklahoma five-star cornerback commit Gabriel Osborne Jr. (OK), USC four-star wide receiver commit Quentin Hale (CA), Auburn four-star running back commit Myson Johnson-Cook (IL) and LSU four-star quarterback commit Peyton Houston (LA).
Five-star cornerback Jermaine Cobbins (TN), five-star athlete Madoxx Davis (GA) and Texas four-star quarterback commit Neimann Lawrence (FL) were the three juniors who signed with Nike.
The list of college players who signed with Nike included a few incoming freshman fresh off of standout preps careers, including Vanderbilt quarterback Jared Curtis and Ohio State wide receiver Chris Henry Jr.
Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, Texas wide receiver Cam Coleman, LSU tight end Trey’Dez Green, Ole Miss running back Kewan Lacy, Oregon quarterback Dante Moore and Texas edge Colin Simmons round out the newest list of NIL signees for Nike.
