After an action-packed opening week of high school football across Northern Kentucky and Southern Indiana, teams are back at it on Friday, Aug. 28 for more competition.

Headlining Northern Kentucky play is a battle between Covington Catholic and Elder. CovCath, ranked No. 4 in the Class 4A preseason poll, is coming off a big 50-6 win over Ryle to kick off the season. The Colonels will take on Elder, which defeated 2025 OHSAA state semifinalists Middletown 35-3 last week.

Meanwhile, preseason Class 4A No. 6 Highlands looks to bounce back following a late-game collapse against Frederick Douglass with a contest against Cooper, which beat Christian County. The Bluebirds lead the head-to-head against the Jaguars 8-5.

One of the biggest games in Southeastern Indiana will be the contest between East Central and New Palestine. Class 4A No. 3 East Central is coming off a big 21-0 win against rival Lawrenceburg, and will face an East Palestine team that was ranked the unanimous No. 1 in the preseason 5A poll.

Check back often as we continually update throughout the night with live scoring and news updates. Once games conclude, be sure to stick around for box scores and game recaps detailing all the action.
