Oregon Ducks quarterback Dante Moore seemed poised to be selected within the top five of this year’s 2026 NFL Draft, but to the surprise of many decided to return to college.
In his first year as the Ducks’ starting quarterback, Moore threw for 3,565 yards with 30 touchdowns, while completing 71.8% of his passes. He ultimately led the Ducks to a 13-2 record, with the team’s season ending in the semifinal round of the College Football Playoff.
While this news is huge for Oregon’s prospects in 2026, as they are in search of its first national title, it also may help them in the immediate future.
As the Ducks prepare to reload the roster around him, they are believed to have their sights set on bringing in Colorado left tackle transfer, Jordan Seaton. The All-Big 12 selection has started in over 20 games in his two years in Boulder, and has already been linked to the Ducks.
Moore’s announcement on Wednesday may have only helped their chances.
“Wait Dante Moore Cameback,” asked Seaton.
Moore would likely greatly appreciate having a brick wall like Seaton protecting his blindside, as the former five-star recruit gave up just two sacks all season. According to PFF, Seaton posted a pass-blocking grade of 83.9.
Regardless of where Seaton ends up, he is expected to command somewhere around $3.5 million, making him one of the highest-paid players in the sport. Programs such as Texas and LSU are also expected to make a run at him.
According to 247Sports, Seaton ranks as the No. 1 overall available player in the transfer portal.
