No. 1 RB recruit Kemon Spell names his top five schools

The Georgia Bulldogs are pivoting towards their class of 2027 and they could already get a big hit in the next few months. Five-star running back Kemon Spell named his top five schools, listing the Georgia Bulldogs alongside the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, USC Trojans, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Miami Hurricanes. Spell decommitted from the Penn State Nittany Lions, reopening his recruitment.

Spell is a five-star running back from the class of 2027. The 5-foot-9, 205-pound halfback plays high school football for McKeesport High School in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. He is the No. 1 running back and No. 7 prospect in the nation from his class. He's also the top recruit in Pennsylvania.

Spell committed to Penn State on Aug. 2, 2024, but on Oct. 15, 2025, three days after the Nittany Lions fired head coach James Franklin, Spell decommitted, even after numerous visits to the school.

He's been on an unofficial visit to Georgia, Notre Dame, Miami, and Ohio State. On3's projection model has him committing to Georgia, but a Crystal Ball from 247Sports has him committing to Notre Dame instead.

Georgia has a good group of running backs right now, with Nate Frazier, Chauncey Bowens, and Bo Walker all having at least two more years of eligibility left and incoming freshman Jae Lamar joining the pack. However, Spell would be an electric addition to the Georgia backfield.
