No. 14 Missouri’s Florida Rout Sets Up Texas A&M SEC Showdown Saturday
Texas A&M’s trip to Columbia now comes with a tougher assignment than the standings alone suggest.
The Aggies visit No. 14 Missouri on Saturday, Oct. 10, with both teams coming off emphatic wins and the Tigers riding the momentum of a 45–17 upset of No. 8 Florida.

Missouri’s performance was a statement on both sides of the ball. Quarterback Austin Simmons threw for 340 yards and two touchdowns, and running back Jamal Roberts piled up 211 yards and three scores.
The Tigers turned a 10–10 tie into 35 unanswered points, showing how quickly their offense can change the game.
That puts pressure on Texas A&M to tackle well and avoid giving Missouri easy chances to build momentum.
Roberts’ breakout outing makes the Aggies’ run defense a central storyline, while Simmons’ ability to stretch the field means A&M can’t simply load the box.
Receiver Cayden Lee also showed he can punish a defense that loses track of him, catching eight passes for 110 yards and a score against Florida.
The Aggies arrive with a boost of their own. They beat Arkansas 34–7 for their first SEC win, leaning on the ground game for four rushing touchdowns.
Marcel Reed contributed 170 passing yards, 66 rushing yards and a score on the ground.
That balanced approach could help Texas A&M keep Missouri’s offense on the sideline and make the crowd wait for its next big play.
For A&M, the challenge is sustaining that formula against a defense that just limited Florida’s Jadan Baugh to 13 yards on 12 carries and logged 11 tackles for loss.

Missouri will want to make Reed pass under pressure; the Aggies will look to run with purpose, protect the ball and turn the matchup into a fourth-quarter contest.
The Tigers have the hotter headline-making win. Texas A&M has a chance to make the trip a measuring stick of its own. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. CT on ABC.
