Quick slant:The Gators have not won a true road game against a ranked team since a 13-6 win at No. 23 Mississippi State in 2018. Florida’s 2026 opponents are a combined 12-4, with their only losses to the Gators. Sumrall is 18-4 in true road games as a head coach, including 1-0 with the Gators. Missouri’s homecoming Saturday will mark its 23rd consecutive sellout.
About No. 8 UF (4-0, 2-0):The Gators’ offense has been on a tear under coordinator Buster Faulkner. Florida’s 28 touchdowns are one fewer than the 2025 Gators scored in 12 games. Aaron Philo has accounted for 10 touchdowns, including three rushing. He and Georgia’s Gunner Stockton are the only SEC quarterbacks averaging at least 10 yards per attempt while completing at least 72% of their passes. Florida has allowed just two sacks and four hurries. Defensively, the Gators rank second nationally with just 27 missed tackles. End Emmanuel Oyebaejo, a 6-foot-6, 303-pound transfer from Jacksonville State, has 2.5 sacks, three hurries and two pass breakups in just 62 snaps, He sat out Week 2 with an ankle injury.
About No. 25 Missouri (3-1, 0-1): The Tigers rely on the run, with Jamal Roberts leading the SEC with 89 carries for 395 yards, which ranks third in the conference. Tigers quarterback Austin Simmons has been highly efficient. He trails only Stockton and Mississippi State’s Kamario Taylor with a 10.3% touchdown rate (11 TDs on 107 attempts). Cayden Lee and Donovan Olugbode have a combined 725 receiving yards, ranking fifth nationally among duos. Defensively, edge rusher Daeden Hopkins has six sacks, including 3.5 in last weekend’s 31-24 loss at Mississippi State. Linebacker Nicholas Rodriguez leads the conference with 39 tackles.
THREE THINGS TO WATCH
1. Explosive plays. Florida leads the conference with 15 plays of at least 30 yards, while Missouri has managed just five, more than only two SEC teams.
2. Reducing penalities. The Gators lead the 16-team SEC with an average of 89.3 penalty yards, while Missouri ranks 14th at 73 yards per game.
3. Capitalizing on turnovers.Florida has generated 42 points off nine turnovers, while Missouri has managed just three points off six turnovers.
