Football:

The biggest takeaway from Mike Norvell’s opening press conference? The fact that Florida State enters camp with a very healthy roster albeit a couple of guys will be limited.

uys are progressing well. There’ll be a few guys that are, that are limited, going in, some guys that will return to play, Boggs, Gbayor, that’s going to be a process of just seeing full, full participation. They’re doing a great job, doing all the things that they can do, been out there running. Coming across, saw Boggs out there, getting in, getting in work. Those guys are, they’re progressing really well. Sanders will be, full, full ready to go, but, those other two guys will, Throughout throughout fall camp, we’ll we’ll see exactly where they are, but definitely both have an open door of opportunity of being ready for the first game, week one, I say week one, for the first, for the first game, but we’ll see how that plays out as we get closer, but like their progress.

Ashton Daniels was ranked 60th on this ranking of all 68 Power 4 quarterbacks; nothing left to do but to prove everyone wrong.

Fifteen Power Four teams failed to produce a single comeback win after trailing by at least seven points entering the fourth quarter over the past five seasons. Vanderbilt went 0-32 in those situations, the most losses without a win of any Power Four program. Virginia Tech (0-23), Florida (0-22), Florida State (0-22), Kentucky (0-22), Kansas (0-21) and Cincinnati (0-20) also endured at least 20 fruitless opportunities.

Recruiting:

The cloud of uncertainty over Mike Norvell is no doubt affecting some of FSU’s recruiting efforts but ESPN liked some of what FSU did this summer on the recruiting trail.

Florida State made a few impressive additions on defense this summer between pledges from safeties Ta’Shawn Poole (No. 43 overall) and Jernard Albright (No. 196) and No. 7 defensive tackle Sam LeJeune (No. 96). 

It’s early in his recruitment but FSU is doing a good job with four-star 2028 DL Zylen Little Coach Knighton has established a relationship with him early on.

Defensive line coach Terrance Knighton has been a key figure in the relationship.

“I just like his personality, he’s a great guy,” Little said. “He’ll call me, be texting, we always have competitive conversations, like about who could grill better. Just simple things like that. Our connection is definitely going in the right direction.”
