The Biletnikoff Award is presented annually to the most outstanding receiver in FBS college football, making Wilde's inclusion another significant preseason honor for the Wildcats' top returning pass catcher.
Wilde enters the season after establishing himself as one of the Big Ten's most productive receivers in 2025.
The Sioux Falls, South Dakota, native started all 13 games and finished with 71 receptions for 880 yards and eight touchdowns.
His 880 receiving yards were the most by a Northwestern player during the David Braun era and the most by a Wildcat since Austin Carr's historic 2016 season.
Wilde also finished among the Big Ten's top 10 in receptions, receiving yards, receiving yards per game and receiving touchdowns last season. He earned third-team All-Big Ten honors for his performance.
Now, the expectations are even higher.
Wilde is one of several Northwestern players who have already received preseason award recognition heading into the 2026 campaign, joining players such as Caleb Komolafe and Jackson Carsello on national watch lists.
The next question is how Wilde will perform in a new-look Northwestern offense.
With Chip Kelly taking over as offensive coordinator, Wilde could have an opportunity to become even more involved in the Wildcats' attack. Kelly's creativity and willingness to utilize his personnel in different ways could give Northwestern's top receiver more opportunities to make an impact.
That could be especially important with Michigan State transfer Aidan Chiles competing for the starting quarterback job.
If Chiles ultimately wins the position, developing chemistry with Wilde could become one of the biggest storylines surrounding Northwestern's offense.
Wilde has already proven he can consistently produce at the Power Four level, while Chiles brings a different skill set to the quarterback position.
The two will have plenty of time during fall camp to build that connection. For Northwestern, getting Wilde involved early and often could be one of the keys to improving an offense that struggled to produce consistently in 2025.
For Wilde, the Biletnikoff Watch List provides another indication of the expectations surrounding him.
After putting together a breakout season in his first year with the Wildcats, he now has an opportunity to prove that 2025 was only the beginning.
If Wilde can build on his production while developing chemistry with Northwestern's new quarterback and adjusting to Kelly's system, another major season could be ahead for the senior receiver.
