It didn’t take long for Notre Dame football to find another defensive line transfer, as they landed a huge one on Thursday morning.
Oregon defensive tackle Tionne Gray, who had been predicted to land with the Irish, made it official according to Hayes Fawcett shortly after his visit started to South Bend. The 6-foot, 6-inch and 330-pounder had a solid redshirt freshman season with 18-tackles and a blocked field goal.
Gray joins one of the top transfer portal classes in the country, as Notre Dame has been getting commitments all this week. Sure, it took the Irish almost 10 days to get one, but once that started, it’s been plenty of good news coming out of the GUG.
He is commitment No. 8, the third defensive lineman, as Notre Dame has completely reworked itself upfront. With the depth already there, the defensive line should be one of the country’s best this coming fall.
