Louis Esposito may have committed to Michigan last July but that hasn't stopped Notre Dame, and others, to continue to build a relationship with the 2027 prospect.
Esposito, is a three-star lineman playing at Saline High School in Michigan. The Irish hosted him over the weekend and the visit has gone well enough that there are plans for an official visit and some insiders who are alerting this could be a flip candidate.
Standing at 6-foot, 5-inches and 285-pounds, Esposito has the type of frames that big-time schools look for in offensive lineman. His build suggests a possibility of still being able to add "good weight." Prep RedZone (subscription required) described him as consistently winning reps in both run blocking and pass protection, coachable, and able to respond quickly after corrections, which is a strong trait for a young lineman.
Esposito originally chose Michigan over offers from schools such as Purdue, Pitt, Louisville and others, and later picked up additional interest from programs including Penn State, USC, Michigan State and Notre Dame. His recruitment is notable because he is the son of Michigan defensive line coach Lou Esposito, which naturally added another layer to his decision and to any later flip interest.
The Esposito recruitment could become very interesting and a bigger news story than possibly his ranking itself. Michigan and Notre Dame both value similar type of players in their program and if both decide to target Louis specifically this could turn into another small chapter in the storied rivalry between the two programs.

Notre Dame understands the family lineage that Louis has with Michigan, but it looks as if they still feel they have enough interest to continue this pursuit, and time will tell if they are right.
