Notre Dame football recently had quite the recruiting ride with 2028 quarterback Trey Tagliaferri, who committed to the Irish, then decommitted and then committed to Oklahoma in the matter of about a week.

It was a wild sequence of events, one that has left the Irish wondering who they’d turn to next. Shorty after Tagliaferri decommitted, we looked at who Notre Dame could turn to next, and it has made a move on one of the prospects highlighted. Lukas Prock, a 6-foot, 2-inch and 190-pounder from New Jersey looked like the most logical target, and it looks like that is the case.

In a report by 247Sports Brian Dohn (subscription required), the nation’s No. 69 overall prospect in their Composite Rankings, told him that his top three right now consist of Notre Dame, Ohio State and Indiana. There are a few schools that are also sticking out to him, but the Irish are in a good position at the moment.

Prock said to Dohn that “after he (Tagliaferri) (decommitted) they all kind of hit me up,” as the coaching staff took the advice and turned up the heat. At this point, you have to believe that he is the top quarterback on Notre Dame 2028 recruiting board and will do whatever it takes to land a commitment.
