Recruiting is a whirlwind affair, and unfortunately Notre Dame football experience that with 2027 5-star linebacker Kaden Henderson.
Just over a week ago, the 6-foot, 2-inch and 220-pounder dropped home state Miami, and it looked very much like he was headed to South Bend. However, over the last few days Texas A&M had emerged as his top option, and on Thursday afternoon he committed to the Aggies.
This clearly wasn’t how the Irish wanted Henderson’s recruitment to go, as he was set to make his official visit to South Bend this weekend, but now won’t be happening. You had to wonder how the timing of Henderson’s commitment would effect his decision, as Texas A&M convinced him to move up his previous time frame and essentially put an end to Notre Dame’s pursuit of the talented linebacker.
As of right now, the Irish do not have a linebacker committed in its 2027 class, as the one’s previously verballed have since decommitted. The next few weeks will be interesting as to how Notre Dame tries to fill those spots in its class.
