Notre Dame football got the best of Wisconsin in their season opener, defeating them 41-13. The Fighting Irish had control from the beginning of the game, and even though Wisconsin tried to stay in it during the first half, it was after halftime that everything changed for them. Notre Dame scored two touchdowns each in the third and fourth quarters, and it was ball game from there.

After the game, Notre Dame celebrated how only Wisconsin would if they won the game, and they trolled them by doing the Jump Around celebration in the locker room. At the beginning of every fourth quarter, Wisconsin’s arena plays that song, and it gets everyone in the stadium hype.

Unfortunately, they weren’t able to enjoy it by the beginning of the fourth because Notre Dame was up big.

Head coach Marcus Freeman shared what he told his group at halftime that led to their huge second half.

“Sometimes, you don’t believe it till you’re in it,” Freeman said, via ESPN. “Like, I can sit here and tell you, ‘You have to struggle to achieve what we achieved tonight,’ but until you’re in the middle of it, it’s hard to understand it. So, I wanted to remind them that at halftime…Don’t assume the future’s going to go in any direction. Just focus on what you have in the moment.”

CJ Carr led the offense big time in this one, as he finished with 239 yards and two touchdowns, and he showed that it could be a big season for him.

Notre Dame’s next game will be against Rice on Sept. 12.
