There are some talented 2027 Notre Dame defensive line targets that not enough people are talking about. There are interesting options still available.
Notre Dame football is making a strong push for several talented 2027 defensive line recruits. That includes elite Chicago (Ill.) St. Patrick star David Folorunsho, who is set to pick between the Fighting Irish, Miami, and Texas Tech. Other top names to know include defensive ends Abraham Sesay and Jackson Vaughn, as well as defensive tackles Marcus Fakatou and Brayden Parks, among others.
When it comes to Parks, who has been a priority target for the team for a long time, it appears that he might end up elsewhere. If the Chicago native does end up with the Oregon Ducks, Notre Dame might be forced to reconfigure their board a bit, or at least prioritize others. Luckily for the Irish staff, some very intriguing options that are on the board.
Here are those other talented players to keep a close eye on.
DT Tyler Alexander – Wellington (Fla.) Palm Beach Central
At 6-3.5 and 315 pounds, Alexander is the most likely “replacement for Parks” if he doesn’t end up with the Irish. Notre Dame will host him for an official visit this offseason, which could end up being huge, especially after he has already been to South Bend a few weeks ago. Florida is the perceived leader for Alexander right now. Only time will tell what Notre Dame’s chances will be for Alexander, but the interest right now is very real.
EDGE Xavier Muhammad – South Houston (Texas) High School
At 6-4 and 275 pounds, Muhammad is a big defensive end who is destined to move inside on the college level. Notre Dame has put itself firmly at the top with Muhammad, but the question will be how hard they push. If I were the Irish staff, I would take Muhammad regardless, if you can make the numbers work. The next few weeks will tell the story of how likely a push is for the Texas native.
DT Segun Alexander – Rabun Gap (Ga.) Nacoochee
Alexander is an extremely intriguing football player, ranking as a four-star and having a really impressive offer list. What makes him most interesting is that Alexander just reclassified from the 2028 recruiting class. The 6-4, 285-pound defender is a player that Notre Dame has been very high on early. Alexander is now a part of the 2027 recruiting class equation.
DT Tevita Nonu – Seattle (Wash.) O’Dea
I am having a hard time figuring out where things stand with Nonu. He included Notre Dame inside of his top five schools, joined by Michigan, Oregon, Washington, and Arizona, but I am just not sure how much the Irish staff is pushing for him. There is, however, clearly some intrigue from his side, so he is worth keeping close tabs on.
