Notre Dame football is off to a 4-0 start, and in the process have been quite dominating.
After Saturday's 49-10 victory over the Purdue Boilermakers, Notre Dame improved to 4-0 and now owns a 169-33 scoring advantage through four games, the highest differential in the country.
Quarterback CJ Carr threw for four touchdowns against the Boilermakers, including three of them by air and one rushing. The final score increased the average margin of victory to 34 points per game in favor of the Fighting Irish.
The point differential could potentially matter down the road when College Football Playoff narratives start to develop. Notre Dame is showing they are not only winning, but winning convincingly week in and week out.
Behind Notre Dame's plus-136 point differential is Ohio State, who have a differential of plus-131. Alabama (plus-111), Georgia (plus-106), and UCLA (plus-104) round out the top-5.
The schedule will eventually get tougher for the Irish, and it is to be expected that the differential gap will close up but at this point, few teams have been able to show dominance the way the Fighting Irish have.
