The Notre Dame Fighting Irish set a ton of records Saturday while beating the Syracuse Orange 70-7 on Senior Day.
Here’s one more — the Fighting Irish are the only FBS team since 1996 to run for more than 300 yards on fewer than 25 carries.
As a team, Notre Dame ran for 329 yards on 24 carries. That effort included running backs Jeremiyah Love, Jadarian Price and Aneyas Williams and backup quarterback Kenny Minchey.
The Irish can move the ball through the air with quarterback CJ Carr and a deep wide-receiver room, but the ground attack is formidable. Love, Price, Williams and Minchey all had rushing touchdowns on Saturday.
Historical comparisons of FBS teams is limited by databases and access, much of it ends going back to 1996.
