Student-athletes remain student-athletes, at Notre Dame at least, as one of the newest transfers pointed out on Wednesday.

Wide receiver Mylan Graham knew that there would be some major adjustments to be made when he left Ohio State and transferred to Notre Dame, but on Wednesday it was learned his biggest adjustment is taking place off the field.

In a now-viral moment, reporter Talia Baia innocently asked Mylan what he perceived as the biggest difference between the two blue blood programs. His answer started off how you’d expect with him saying “Not too different,” but then Graham continued his thought process which has made the internet go crazy. “You just have to go in person.. At Notre Dame obviously everyone knows how it is with academics.”

In a time where Carson Beck, a starting quarterback for Miami in the National Championship game admitted he hasn’t gone to class in two years, the reception of this quote could have gone in a negative tone however it seems most folks appreciate the sincerity of the receiver’s answer.

Graham had spent two seasons with the Buckeyes, using a redshirt in 2024 as a true freshman. He caught six passes for 93 yards this past season and submitted his name into the transfer portal on January 4th, and committing to the Irish a week later.

The result of this viral moment is Ohio State fans coming to the defense of their academics while Notre Dame fans get to hold their head high for a week for doing things “the right way.”
