Why Notre Dame Will Win
Boston College gives the ball away like Halloween candy.
It turned it over 13 times in a stretch of five games in the last six dates, but that’s not the biggest problem. The defense doesn’t have a prayer against the midrange Irish passing attack.
The rested Notre Dame offense will get the ground attack going from the start – the Irish have rushed for 200 yards or more in four of the last five games – and Boston College just got hit for 317 Louisville rushing yards a few weeks after giving up 226 to Clemson.
But in this, the backs will do their most damage as receivers, getting quick-hitting chances from CJ Carr to make something happen on the move. But …
Why Boston College Will Win
Boston College hasn’t been good.
The defense is about to get rocked, and the offense hasn’t been able to find its way, but if the team can just hang around, there’s a shot to make this interesting.
The defense is more aggressive and forcing more turnovers, the running game got more work over the last few games, and the coaching staff really is trying to tweak and change things to find something that clicks.
Notre Dame’s defense has improved, but the midrange passes have been there for most teams. Everyone was able to get to at least 200 yards – NC State was the outlier – and BC has the pieces to keep the chains moving a bit.

The Irish will come out a little sluggish, but midway through the second quarter it’ll all kick in.
The rested defense will swallow up everything the Eagles try to do with the running game, and on the other side, this will be the CJ Carr show.
The backs won’t be forgotten about, but Carr will take over against an Eagle D loaded up to stop Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price.
