It’s always interesting to see what the dollar value is on a program, and for Notre Dame athletic department, it’s one of the most valuable in the country according to CNBC.
The Irish placed No. 6 overall at a value of $1.13 billion dollars, trailing just Texas, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Georgia, and Michigan. It’s a list of blue blood programs and rightfully so. Each one of them is a top brand in the sport, and many eyes are focused on what they’re doing.
This again is more ammo for Notre Dame to continue to stay an independent, as they’re not far off the top of the list. One would have to assume that if they’d have to split some football revenue with a conference, taking away from some of the earnings. They’d most likely still be among the top schools, but it could put a dent into how they’re valued.
What this chart shows is how valuable a brand Notre Dame is, it’s one of the top in the country.
