Notre Dame's defense is among the best in the country, says one outlet

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish defense has been, with the exception of a few games, very stout the past few seasons. And it's expected to be one of the nation's best yet again in 2026.

On3 Sports has the Notre Dame defense listed at number two on its Top 10 college-football defenses list. The Irish follow behind Oklahoma and are ahead of Texas, Oregon and Georgia on the list.

Other schools on the list include Miami (FL), Texas Tech, Indiana, LSU and Ohio State. Honorable mentions include Alabama, Texas A&M and Iowa.
