COLUMBIA — South Carolina football’s top wide receiver Nyck Harbor is wearing sweatpants and his jersey over a sweatshirt and not on the dress list for the non-conference game against Coastal Carolina.

Harbor, who is 6-foot-5, was injured in the Gamecocks’ 31-30 loss to Texas A&M on Nov. 15 and spent the night in the hospital before returning to Columbia.

There is no official SEC injury report for non-conference games and coach Shane Beamer didn’t give a specific update on Harbor’s status ahead of kickoff on Nov. 22 (4:15 p.m. ET, SEC Network).

The junior has 503 receiving yards on 24 catches to go with five touchdowns, the most for the Gamecocks (3-7, 1-7 SEC). He’s averaging 21 yards per catch. He had 102 yards on three catches before he was injured, averaging 34 yards a reception. He had a 80-yard touchdown.

Behind Harbor, Vandrevius Jacobs has 407 yards on 25 catches. He has three touchdowns.

What happened between Nyck Harbor, Texas State trooper?

In the first half of the game against Texas A&M on Nov. 15, Harbor had an 80-yard touchdown reception where he continued to run into the tunnel after scoring. As he came back out to the sideline, he was bumped by a trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The trooper stationed near the tunnel at Kyle Field was “relieved” from his game day assignment following the incident.
