The LSU Tigers have another top 25 game coming up this weekend against the Texas A&M Aggies. Both teams are looking to bounce back after a disappointing Week 3, so they are going to have to reverse some trends in order to pull it off.

The Tigers enter the night as favorites, but they're not going to be able to continue playing like they have (mostly on offense) and expect to win. The good news, though, is that they certainly have the talent to come out and remind people why they are expected to make a College Football Playoff push in Lane Kiffin's first season.

Offensive Prediction: LSU Tigers Will Have Second 50+ Yard Play Through Air

Through the first three weeks, LSU has had just one play through the air of 50 or more yards. They have had just two of at least 40. Both came against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. Against the Ole Miss Rebels, Sam Leavitt's longest completion went for just 26.

The Tigers need to establish some sort of consistent explosive element in the passing game. The Kentucky Wildcats had some success against the Aggies with completions of 32, 42 and 53. The Arizona State Sun Devils had Reed Harris haul in passes of 35 and 58. Texas A&M's defense is talented, but they can be beat over the top.

LSU brought in a ton of receiving talent this year, with a focus on big play makers. Jackson Harris, Tre Wilson and Winnie Watkins are all candidates to break one at any moment. Leavitt just has to get it to them.

Defensive Prediction: Blake Baker Finally Slows Down Marcel Reed

Baker has had a great start to his career in Baton Rouge, but Reed has been a consistent thorn in his side. Reed's breakout really began against the Tigers back in 2024. He came in off the bench to go 2-for-2 with 70 yards through the air and nine rushes for 62 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. Texas A&M cruised to a victory last year. They got two picks on him, but he had 108 yards on the ground with four total touchdowns.

This is Baker's most athletic defense, so they should finally be able to keep up. If they carry over their second half performance against the Rebels and Trinidad Chambliss on defense, they should be able to slow down Reed. The Aggies quarterback has completed fewer than 60% of his passes and just 6.1 yards per rush this year. LSU can't let him get back into a rhythm.
