Highlights

Outlook

We’ve got our second Iowa State-to-Penn State flip in the last few days, following in the footsteps of fellow Nebraskan Bryson Williams. Much like Williams, he was also released from his letter of intent after Matt Campbell left Ames for State College. Unlike Williams though, this is the second time in his recruitment that Chatman has flipped, as he was originally committed to Northern Illinois until last Spring.

Chatman projects as a cornerback at the next level, and a quick look at his highlight reel above showcases why. His great vision and acceleration and top-line, sub-10.8 100-meter speed have made him a lethal dual-threat quarterback in high school. If we were still living in the 90’s, he would have been committed to Nebraska eons ago and projected to be the next great Husker quarterback running the triple-option attack.

With only four commits in total for 2026, this will be far from the last recruit that Campbell snags for his first-ever Penn State class, as you can anticipate a few more of his former Iowa State commits joining the ranks. This also means one fewer player that Campbell will have to hit the transfer portal for in order to fill out his roster for next season.
