OUTLOOK
Commitment No. 8 for Penn State’s 2027 class is in as Maryland three-star interior offensive lineman Owen Reilly made the call for the Nittany Lions. Reilly becomes the first offensive lineman in the class, and the first prospect from Maryland as well.
There’s a lot to like about Reilly, perhaps most amusingly is that his highlight video starts with pointing out that he had 122 pancakes last season. That is a WHOLE lot of putting people on their rear ends but it makes sense when you consider Reilly’s size with his movement skills. Naturally powerful kid — as you would expect at 6-foot-4, 290 pounds — but he’s a pretty good athlete who’s comfortable in space. While those pancake stats are nice, it’s more about how he looks doing it than the end result itself because there are a lot of 250+ pound kids around the country who bully defenders on a high school field but don’t have the feet, coordination, and technique to transfer it to the next level. Reilly certainly checks those boxes and it’s why offensive line coach Ryan Clanton made him a prime target from his first days in Happy Valley.
