- Bjork indirectly praised Day’s mindset and leadership
The Michigan Wolverines and Ohio State Buckeyes are expected to battle out their frustrations again next month with a potential College Football Playoff berth, or more than one berth, on the line in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
The Wolverines have won the last series’ last four games and are peaking with a solid win over their rivals from East Lansing, Michigan, the Michigan State Spartans, under their belts.
Last season’s rivalry game was shocking not just for the 13-10 final result in favor of coach Sherrone Moore’s Wolverines but also for tempers and emotions that flared afterward as a brawl broke out between both iconic college football programs and their players.
On Friday, athletic director Ross Bjork’s reply to a provocative question on his program’s head coach was shared by On3.com.
Bjork Shares Thoughts on Day’s 2024 Post-Michigan Coaching Job
Bjork was asked about Ryan Day’s response after losing to Michigan, 13-10, in the Horseshoe last season.
He chose to focus on the Buckeyes’ national championship run and turned his attention to this year’s game.
“Look at our playoff run last year,” Bjork said. “They executed. They said, ‘This is our game plan. This is who we are.’
“How many people can compartmentalize that and say, ‘Look, we will figure out that (Michigan) game later, but for now, we have to go do this job and we’re going to execute it and win a championship?'”

Buckeyes, Wolverines in Action This Weekend
The Buckeyes and Wolverines have a pair of high profile games this weekend with Ohio State taking on Penn State at noon Saturday and Michigan hosting Purdue for a night game in Ann Arbor.
Ohio State would almost certainly be favored if they were to meet the Wolverines in Ann Arbor tomorrow, but things change in a hurry.
Bjork sounds confident that the Buckeyes have figured out how to solve the Wolverines’ equation, with new coordinators Brian Hartline and Matt Patricia among those who will be tasked with turning the tide.
‘The Game’ is less than a month away and anticipation is starting to reach a fever pitch. Bjork and Day’s Buckeyes have the team to stop the losing streak, but it won’t be easy with Sherrone Moore holding a 2-0 record against his rivals from Columbus.
