While most of the transfer portal news for Ohio State has been players leaving the program, there are some that are, and will continue, coming to the banks of the Olentangy as additions as well. One of those was announced on Wednesday when the agent of standout UTSA wideout Devin McCuin announced his transfer to the Scarlet and Gray.
We’ve seen several OSU receivers take the plunge into the transfer portal since Ohio State’s loss to Miami in the College Football Playoff, and that means the depth of the room will have to be rebuilt. It’s expected that Jeremiah Smith and Brandon Inniss will patrol two of the three starting spots as returning No. 1s, but with Bryson Rodgers, Quincy Porter, and Mylan Graham all entering the portal, the third spot appears to be up for grabs, as well as rotational opportunities. It should be expected that incoming 5-star freshman Chris Henry Jr. will compete for that spot, but you can now enter McCuin into the mix as well.
At UTSA, the Jacksonville, Texas native totaled 65 receptions for 726 yards and eight touchdowns last year. There’s no doubt that his speed is what attracted the Buckeyes with a sub-4.4 40-time on the record.

McCuin is the fourth player to come to Ohio State via the transfer portal so far this offseason. McCuin joins Ohio tight end Mason Williams, and the UCF duo of longsnapper Dalton Riggs and defensive tackle John Walker.
We’re sure there will be more transfer portal news to come, so stay tuned.
