Ohio State may or may not have Brady Edmunds as a part of its 2027 recruiting classes. There’s a real chance he flips to UCLA, and he just dropped one comment that leaves the possibility open.
The Ohio State Buckeyes have had 2027 QB Brady Edmunds committed since December of 2024, and this weekend will be the most important factor in him staying a Buckeye.
Edmunds, a California native, took an official visit to UCLA recently and the Bruins are likely to be the spot if he doesn’t end up in Columbus. Heading into the official at Ohio State, Edmunds knows what he’s looking toward.
Questions remain on Brady Edmunds’ future as an Ohio State commitment
“I just want to make sure we’re on the same page with everything and how we go about this correctly,” Edmunds said via Eleven Warriors “I think it’s been OK so far, but just making sure everything is good, and so I can make the best decision at the end of the day.”
The 6-foot-5, 220-pound quarterback is the No. 18 quarterback and No. 219 player nationally in 2027, per 247 Sports Composite.
Ohio State remains looking for a second quarterback in the class, but that isn’t expected to be a problem with Edmunds. To this point, the Buckeyes haven’t made any serious ground in landing a second quarterback for the current recruiting class.
Where it gets interesting Edmunds has been open about the possibility of opening up his recruitment and not being a Buckeye anymore.
“If for whatever reason it ends up going the other way, it would be a tough thing to walk away from,” Edmunds said of his commitment. “I’ve been a part of this for so long, obviously committed for 18-plus months, one of the longest commits in all of the class, so it means a lot. My family, everything like that. My grandpa obviously being from here. It’s a big deal.”
We’ll have a better idea of the future of Ohio State and Edmunds after this weekend. It’s a key one in Columbus.
