Will the Ohio State football team be on the field today in the first round of the 2025 College Football Playoff?

The last time we saw the Buckeyes, they were losing a nail-biter against the Indiana Hoosiers in the Big Ten Championship Game inside Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Despite not taking home the Big Ten trophy, Ohio State still did enough to receive the No. 2 seed in the CFP, and that means OSU will have a first-round bye and not be in action like seeds No. 5 through 12 are.

So, you can kick back and watch the first round games without too much worry, and if you still want a little Scarlet and Gray to fill your day, you can tune into the basketball Buckeyes as they try to get a big win against the North Carolina Tar Heels in Atlanta as a part of the CBS Sports Classic.

Never fear, Ohio State football will be in action soon enough and will play the winner of the first round matchup between No. 7 seed Texas A&M and No. 10 seed Miami in the Cotton Bowl Classic on New Year’s Eve.
