Offensive line recruiting has been a focal point for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Now, it appears the Buckeyes are on track to land the kind of elite recruit they want in the class of 2028.
The Ohio State Buckeyes have six offensive line recruits for the class of 2027 in what's been a strong class put together by offensive line coach Tyler Bowen.
Ohio State has emphasized the trenches this class specifically with their top recruit up front being high four-star OL Kellen Wymer.
Every year, the Buckeyes try to put up a border around Ohio with the top offensive line recruits, then they take a big swing or two nationally.
The Buckeyes look to be in a good spot with an elite offensive line talent in the class of 2028 already, and he just so happens to be in Michigan's backyard.
Ohio State clearly has the attention of elite offensive line recruit from Michigan
Case Tech (MI) 2028 OT Antijuan Wilkes is a top target for the Buckeyes up front for next year's class. Alabama, Ohio State, Alabama, Missouri, and Georgia are the teams standing out to Wilkes right now.
What's standing out about Ohio State to Wilkes?
"Everything really," Wilkes said of what stands out regarding the Buckeyes via Rivals. "It's just amazing honestly."
Wilkes is the No. 2 offensive tackle and No. 28 overall prospect in the country, per 247 Sports Composite. The 6-foot-5, 250 pound offense tackle has a frame to grow into, but it's easy to see why so many schools are interested in the high school junior. Wilkes has north of 40 offers to his name already.
Ohio State doesn't yet have any offensive line commitment for 2028 and Wilkes would be quite the way to start that group off. At this time there's no timetable for when a decision is expected to be made.
