We now know the journey Ohio State will have to traverse in the 2025 postseason if it is to successfully defend its College Football Playoff national championship from last season.

It wasn’t the way anyone wanted things to end for Ohio State, with a narrow 13-10 loss in the Big Ten Championship Game against Indiana, but now it’s time to pull up the boot straps and try to make a run through the College Football Playoff and win back-to-back titles.

The final CFP rankings were announced on Sunday, and the Buckeyes dropped just one spot after the loss in Indy, down to No. 2, and will still receive a first-round bye and won’t play until the quarterfinals. Ohio State will play the winner of a first-round matchup between No. 7 seed Texas A&M and No. 10 seed Miami (FL) in the Cotton Bowl on Dec. 31. Here is the complete bracket for your viewing pleasure.

If Ohio State is to win that game, it’ll move on to a semifinal in the Fiesta Bowl on January 8. Georgia is the highest seed (3) that would funnel there as an opponent if the chalk holds.
