For Ohio State and the rest of the country, the regular season and conference championship games are over, and now it’s time to focus on making a run to a national championship in the College Football Playoff. The Buckeyes are in a unique position in being the defending national champions, and the CFP committee kept them at No. 2, headed to Dallas for the Cotton Bowl Classic as their first matchup in the playoff.
OSU head coach Ryan Day has had a sleep — ok, a lack thereof — to digest the close loss to Indiana in the Big Ten Championship Game Saturday night, but he also got a chance to see what the path ahead is for the Buckeyes in the Playoff.
He met with the media in Columbus to add further color to the game against Indiana, where he feels the psyche of this team is, what he thinks about Ohio State’s path in the postseason, and more. You can hear and watch all of his comments in reacting to the announced 12-team College Football Playoff field thanks to the YouTube Channel of WBNS 10TV.
Ohio State will face the winner of No. 7 seed Texas A&M and No. 10 seed Miami (FL) on Dec. 31. We’ll have plenty leading up to that game and as we reflect on what we’ve seen so far and what’s still ahead.
