Big news for Ohio State this coming weekend with a five-star visitor set to be in Columbus. The Buckeyes will be hosting a Texas Tech commit in what is an important visit.

It’s a huge recruiting weekend for the Ohio State Buckeyes and the biggest visitor in town will be top target five-star RB David Gabriel Georges. 

Ohio State doesn’t have a high number of visitors in town this weekend, but the quality of visitors couldn’t be much higher. There will be several five-star talents in Columbus starting Friday. 

One of those players is committed to play in the Big Ten, and Ohio State will try to leave a lasting impression this weekend. 

Ohio State hosting five-star Texas Tech WR this weekend 

The Buckeyes hired Cortez Hankton to be the wide receivers coach when Brian Hartline departed. Hankton is working on his first class at Ohio State with the 2027 haul, and he has a chance to leave a great first impression on Buckeye Nation. Texas Tech WR commit Benny Easter Jr. will be in Columbus this weekend for an official visit. 

“What excites me about Ohio State is the coaches, fans, and tradition,” Easter said via Rivals. “They are a top-tier program but we will find out this weekend.”

Easter has been committed to the Red Raiders since November of 2025, but has kept his recruitment open. Ohio State is one of the schools in the mix for the Humble, Texas native. The 6-foot, 200-pound wideout is set to take additional visits to Ole Miss, Georgia, LSU, and Alabama. 

Despite Easter being committed to Texas Tech, he’s clearly still weighing his options on where he wants to play college football. According to 247 Sports Composite, Easter is the No. 7 wide receiver and No. 36 overall player in the country. 

Ohio State didn’t offer Easter until January and he’s one of the high-profile wideouts on their board. The Buckeyes have five-star Jamier Brown committed for 2027 so far with multiple possible names to be added. 

Easter is one of the best wideouts in the country and this official visit is going to go a long way for the Buckeyes’ chances. It’s set to be a sunny, good weather weekend in Columbus. We’ll hear next weekend about how the visit went.
