It’s almost hard to keep track of how many offers the Ohio State coaching staff has sent out as of late. All over the country and every position imaginable, the Buckeyes are chasing top classes and they’re leaving nothing to chance.
New evaluations continue to pop, and these latest offers are for a reason. Thursday showing more of the same, the Buckeyes were back in Indiana to offer a three-star defensive back who is currently seeing his recruitment gain attention.
A 5-foot-11, 195 pound safety, Ohio State threw their name into the mix for Errol Kerns III (Indianapolis, Indiana/Lawrence Central) and they likely won’t be the last to do so. Committed to Miami of Ohio right now, Kerns has gained offers from the likes of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Purdue, Texas A&M, Wisconsin, and others all within the last month, and the Buckeyes saw fit to do the same.
Already making visit plans to several of the previously mentioned schools, Kerns is taking a good look at his other options.
The No. 737 player nationally and the 72nd best safety in the 2027 class per the 247Sports Composite, Ohio State and position coach Matt Guerrieri look determined to land one more safety for this cycle. From here, if the Buckeyes want any real chance at his services they’ll need to get him on campus.
Buckeyes see prediction for four-star DL
This week has seen plenty of good momentum surrounding Ohio State’s 2027 class. The Buckeyes have earned predictions for multiple major targets they are after, and Thursday was another edition of potential good news coming for the program.
The defensive side of the ball the connection once more, Ohio State looks to be in a great spot for four-star Kasi Currie. The No. 55 player nationally and the fifth best defensive lineman in the 2027 class per the 247Sports Composite, Currie is a 6-foot-5, 315 pound monster in the trenches and likes what he sees in Columbus.
Adam Gorney of Rivals placing his prediction in favor of Ohio State winning this recruitment, this would be a stellar get for Larry Johnson. What could make matters even better, he’s teammates with fellow Buckeye priority, Marcus Fakatou.
Setting up to be a summer to remember, Ohio State has put themselves in prime position to where if they land even half of the players they’re supposedly leading for they’ll have a top class for sure. Work always to be done, for now the Buckeyes are ready to strike and with some of the nation’s top prep players.
Quick Hits
Maybe no prep program is more well-known for producing Ohio State players than Cleveland Glenville. The Buckeyes are back once again in 2027 looking to bring in yet another Tarblooder. Working wonderfully for them over the years, the next in line could be Kaylon Bailey, and yesterday he released his plans for a commitment date in just over a month.
A 6-foot-1, 225 pound edge rusher, Bailey is the No. 737 player nationally and 61st best at his position per the 247Sports Composite. Maybe a little under the radar based on his ranking, Ohio State’s offer is all you need to know about his this staff feels about him. Stay tuned.
