The Ohio State Buckeyes are 11-0 going into their Week 14 matchup against the Michigan Wolverines. Looking to win a second straight national championship, the Buckeyes are attracting a lot of attention.
That includes some of the nation’s top high school recruits. Ohio State‘s 2026 cycle already has 28 commitments, ranking No. 3 in the Big Ten. That’s already the most commitments it’s landed since head coach Ryan Day took over as the full-time head coach in 2019.
At this point, there are no players in the top 100 of the Rivals Industry Rankings uncommitted. That means the Buckeyes will be searching for flips to add more top-tier talent.
On Thursday, Rivals’ recruiting editor Josh McCuistion logged an expert prediction for Ohio State to flip cornerback CJ Bronaugh from the Florida Gators.
Bronaugh, out of Winter Garden, Florida, stands at 6-foot-1 and weighs 175 pounds. Rivals Industry Rankings place him as a four-star recruit, the No. 11 cornerback and the No. 98 player in the nation.
As a senior at Windermere High School, he’s appeared in nine games, racking up 23 tackles, one tackle for loss, two sacks, two interceptions and three pass deflections.
The Gators are a program facing some serious uncertainty. After firing Billy Napier on Oct. 19, they’re in search of a new head coach. However, they battle with other teams such as the Auburn Tigers, Penn State Nittany Lions and LSU Tigers for the best candidates.
A change in head coaches provided opportunities for teams such as Ohio State to swoop in and make a push for Florida’s top commits, such as Bronaugh. It’s also worth noting he took an official visit to Columbus on Nov. 15 to watch the Buckeyes defeat the UCLA Bruins 48-10.
If the Buckeyes do land him, he’d become their third cornerback in the 2026 cycle, joining four-star Jay Timmons and four-star Jordan Thomas.
