Another day, another successful commitment for the Ohio State Buckeyes and head coach Ryan Day in the 2027 recruiting class.
After landing a total of 12 commits in the 2027 class, Day and the coaching staff have been on a hot streak throughout their efforts on the recruiting trail this offseason. However, the Buckeyes have shown no signs of slowing down, with the program recently landing another commitment earlier this week.
According to a social media post on Monday afternoon, 2027 four-star linebacker Price Goldsby has announced his commitment to the Buckeyes, making him another highly-touted defensive prospect to join Day’s incredible 2027 class.
AGTG 100% committed.Go BUCKS! I can’t wait to be apart of this unbelievable program with great coaches who teach you, great players who push you and the best fan base in college football who expect nothing less than excellence. @JLaurinaitis55@ryandaytime@ElmoreJ86pic.twitter.com/k1RKOVH93F

What to Expect From Goldsby
Goldsby, throughout his time at Blue Springs South High School, has proven to be an underrated playmaker within the current recruiting cycle. As of this month, the stout linebacker is the No. 7-ranked recruit at his position, as well as the No. 1 prospect in the state of Missouri, per 247Sports’ Composite.
Despite not receiving much playing time as an underclassman, Goldsby quickly landed on many colleges’ radars after his junior season. During his most recent season with the Jaguars, the young linebacker recorded 83 tackles, 22.5 tackles for losses, and 13.5 sacks, while also demonstrating his ability to drop back in coverage by tallying two pass deflections.
Standing at 6-foot-3, 205 lbs., Goldsby will have to add more size to his frame in order to become a difference maker at the college level. However, with how well Ohio State’s linebackers coach James Laurinaitis has done with developing players, it’s clear that Goldsby committed to the perfect program to assist his career.
Laurinaitis’ most recent success stories include Sonny Styles and Avrell Reese, as both players ultimately became top-10 picks in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Looking at the rest of Day’s 2027 recruiting class, the group has been widely considered a top-10 program at the entire FBS level, thanks to the commitment of a pair of five-star prospects in EDGE DJ Jacobs and wide receiver Jamier Brown. Goldsby’s commitment to the Buckeyes makes him the second linebacker to join Day’s well-rounded class, as he is set to join fellow four-star prospect Quinton Cypher out of the state of North Carolina.
