Ohio State Stunned by a Perfect Texas Longhorns Fourth Quarter, Fall 24-23

Ohio State entered the fourth quarter with a 23-3 lead, feeling very good about their chances to win the football game against the Texas Longhorns.
That was when the Longhorns put together the perfect fourth quarter, which was aided by the Ohio State Buckeyes completely taking their foot off the gas pedal.
The Longhorns were driving to end the third quarter, and they finished that drive with an Arch Manning touchdown connection to Ryan Wingo to settle the crowd down. Belief started to fester when the Buckeyes came out and went three-and-out in just 1:30 seconds giving Texas the ball back with 12:49 left in the football game.
Manning continued to stay in the fight and drove the Longhorns down on a 13-play, 72-yard drive, which was capped by a one-yard Hollywood Smothers run to bring all of the belief back into DKR.
Ohio State got the football back with their backs against the wall, and the drive got going on the right foot. Sayin connected with Nate Roberts for a 24-yard gain all the way across the field, and it was a weight off the shoulders for the Buckeyes.
They were on the top side of field goal range, and they felt good. A couple of Bo Jackson-plus runs set Ohio State up with 45 yard field goal with their new kicker, Connor Hawkins. All that was needed for a win was to drill that kick.
Hawkins mishit the kick and missed it wide left, giving the football back to Texas with 4:10 left. What transpired after that was a perfect encapsulation of the football game. Texas dominated the line of scrimmage, Manning sat back without a rush, and when they ran the ball, the lanes were wide open.
It was to the tune of 12 plays for 73 yards that cashed in with 25 seconds left a touchdown that gave the Longhorns the lead.
It was all but over from there. Ohio State got the ball back, and three heaves down the field yielded nothing for the Buckeyes, and all that they are left with is their head in their hands, blowing the biggest 4th quarter lead in the history of Texas football.
The Buckeyes head home for a matchup with the Kent State Golden Flashes before the beginning of Big Ten play in just a couple of weeks.
This will go down as one of the worst losses in the history of Ohio State football, in a game that they absolutely needed to win. Ohio State falls to 1-1 with a gauntlet of a schedule left ahead of them.
