Ohio State trending towards landing 2027 running back

When it comes to recruiting, Ohio State is on par with every other program in the country. It's not uncommon to see the Buckeyes listed as finalists for the top talent year in and year out. While Ryan Day may not land every recruit he desires, he has a pretty good track record of landing the right guys who are not only talented but fit the culture.

Recently, OSU went all in on one of the top running backs in the nation but missed out. Running backs coach Carlos Locklyn put all of his eggs in the David Gabriel Georges basket, only to see the No. 2-ranked running back pick Tennessee. That miscalculation has left the Buckeyes without a tailback in the 2027 class. However, it looks like things might be picking up steam for Ohio State to land an in-state prospect.

Jordan Hall is a three-star tailback out of Cincinnati, Ohio, where he is a senior at Princeton High School. Hall recently decommitted from the Miami Redhawks and took an official visit to OSU for the season opener against Ball State. The Buckeyes now have an official crystal ball pick for Hall to land in Columbus with the Scarlet and Gray, according to recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong.

Ohio State isn't the only team that has started to see the value in the Cincinnati native. Penn State also offered Hall in late August, among others such as Maryland, Wake Forest, and his hometown Bearcats. As of now, the Buckeyes look to have the inside track and hope to add to another top-rated class.
