Ohio State football fans should be happier than normal this weekend because, in addition to the Buckeyes being the No. 1-ranked team in the College Football Playoff rankings, they actually have a night game set to come to an Ultra 4k HD television or streaming device near you Saturday night against the UCLA Bruins.

OSU pulls in eyeballs and generates media attention like almost no other program out there, so where and when it plays is a big deal, especially for Buckeye Nation. It’s also a big deal when it comes to making weekly predictions, and that’s exactly what we ask each of our staff members to do each week.

It was going to be an uphill climb no matter what for UCLA, but now that quarterback Nico Iamaleava has been ruled out with a concussion, the Bruins could play for three days and not score a point against this defense. Ohio State will try to get the ground game going against a porous Bruin run defense and win this one easily.

On paper, UCLA is no match for the Buckeyes, and the only way for the Bruins to come out on top is if Ohio State is caught looking ahead. Fortunately, Ryan Day has been a master at keeping this team focused on the present. Buckeye fans get to watch their team under the lights, and Ohio State rolls to an easy victory.

Nico Iamaleava came into UCLA with lots of hype, and he still has impressive escapability. But he hasn’t been the same quarterback as he was at Tennessee last year, and the offense around him isn’t nearly as good. And now that he’s not playing, well, things are going to be ugly.
