The Oklahoma Sooners suffered a disappointing loss to the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday, which made news in the NFL on Wednesday. Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield was forced to wear the Maize and Blue during his press conference appearance this week.
Mayfield, the Heisman Trophy winner from his final year with the Sooners in 2017, wagered a friendly bet with Bucs coach Todd Bowles and lost. He met with reporters wearing a tight-fitting Wolverines No. 18 tank top. That's not the worst of it either. Bowles sang him the Michigan fight song.
This might be one of the toughest lessons for Mayfield. Bowles' son, Troy, wears the No. 18 jersey as a linebacker for the Wolverines. He had nine tackles and a fumble recovery in Saturday's 17-10 upset win over the Sooners, who fell to 1-1 on the season.

"Todd's son was on the winning side of it, and the Sooners were not," Mayfield told reporters as he explained the outfit. "Therefore, I squeezed into this little tank top."
The Sooners have a winnable matchup with New Mexico on Saturday. Brett Venables' squad will look to bounce back before SEC play in two weeks. As for Michigan, the Kyle Whittingham era has featured two close games with controversy. Not ideal, but the 19th-ranked Wolverines are 2-0 to start the season and host UTEP on Saturday.
