One of Oklahoma’s longest-tenured commits made it official on Wednesday as wide receiver Daniel Odom signed to play with the Sooners.

Odom originally committed to Oklahoma in January and officially told competing schools he was not open to any alternative offers over the summer, writing, “Please don’t take my non-responsiveness as disrespect. I wish (other schools) nothing but the best, and please respect my decision.”

The California native, a product of St. John Bosco in Bellflower, is a four-star recruit. He ranks as the No. 39 player in California and the No. 423 player in the country.

247Sports’ national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins said Odom’s strength could allow him to play sooner rather than later at the collegiate level.

“Good-sized wideout pushing 6-foot-2, 190 pounds and plays a physical game,” Biggins wrote. “Strong kid who can bully opposing corners and picks up a lot of yards after contact. Shows good top-end speed and can routinely get behind a defense.”
