Kristian Moore went less than a week between his commitment to Oklahoma and his signing.

The high-school linebacker out of Alabama made his decision official Wednesday, joining coach Brent Venables’ team just two days after he pledged he would Monday night. Moore had been in Norman over the weekend to watch the Sooners beat LSU, the same day he received his scholarship offer.

Venables must have seen something different about Moore. The three-star prospect held just one other scholarship offer from an FBS program (Liberty). But the Selma High linebacker put together a solid senior season, upping his profile. Moore logged 91 tackles, including 16 1/2 for loss, to go with five pass break-ups, 3 1/2 sacks, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery.

According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Moore ranks as the No. 1,481 prospect in the country and the No. 61 prospect in Alabama. He was the last player to commit in Oklahoma’s class, though the Sooners did pick up four players between Nov. 27 and Dec. 1.

In a perfect world, Moore would have time to develop with the Sooners before being thrust into the lineup. The good news is that the top six linebackers on OU’s linebacker depth chart have eligibility remaining. Kip Lewis and Owen Heineicke, the team’s two leading tacklers, are both juniors.
