The Oklahoma Sooners currently have the No. 1 recruiting class, and it could get even better.
The Oklahoma Sooners are now projected to secure elite four-star safety Bode Sparrow. Oklahoma has aggressively pursued him for some time. Sparrow ranks as the No. 1 player in Utah and the No. 2 safety nationally. They are also projected to land Gabriel Osborne, one of the state’s best players.
And now, one player who's already committed is saying exactly what the Sooners' main objective is now.
"Gabriel Osborne and Bode [Sparrow]," four-star athlete Greydon Howell told SoonerScoop.com. "Gabriel has been really responsive all the time, so hopefully we get him. I need to text Bode soon and see how that's gonna be."
If OU lands Sparrow, a top-60 national prospect, it would strengthen their No. 1 recruiting class. OU appears set to compete with Texas A&M for the top class by year's end. Sparrow offers more than rankings; he excels on the field.
He's a big safety at 6'2, 200 pounds, can play in the box and cover a bit. He will be an exciting addition to the recruiting class. Sparrow is the No. 1 player in Utah and the No. 2 safety in the country.
Gabriel Osborne could be a five-star by the time he gets on campus
There is optimism that OU will secure in-state CB Gabriel Osborne. On3 currently predicts his commitment to OU over Ohio State, Michigan, Alabama, and Miami. OU already holds commitments from four-star Mikhail McCreary and three-star Mikyal Davis at cornerback. They are also projected to add Trenton Blaylock, a Texas cornerback and brother of RB Tory Blaylock.
OU has targeted Gabriel Osborne, the No. 11 cornerback in the 2027 class and No. 3 in Oklahoma, for some time. Osborne, a standout basketball player at Mustang High School, is a versatile dual-sport athlete. Rivals projects Oklahoma to land him.
OU also has four-star safety Jaylen Scott committed. He ranks as the No. 17 safety in the nation, so the secondary in the class is pretty amazing right now. Adding both of these guys would make it even better. This class is stacked and could be one of the best in OU history, at least on paper. However, there is still work to finish. The players already committed know what the goal is, though.
