The Oklahoma Sooners have had a great weekend. And that might be an understatement. Hosting a number of prospects in the 2027 recruiting class, the Sooners have added four commitments on Saturday, the latest being the No. 1 tight end in the country, Seneca Driver. Driver joins a class that added Jamison Roberts, Tyson Ross, and Jaylen Scott on Saturday.

The Oklahoma Sooners offered Driver back in August, but really began to create some momentum for the elite tight end prospect when they hired tight ends coach Jason Witten. Witten made Driver an immediate priority, and it looks like the Sooners’ “Future Freaks” weekend closed the deal.

Driver ranks as the No. 18 player in the class and No. 1 tight end, according to Rivals. He’s the No. 62 overall player over at 247Sports and the No. 3 tight end in the country. He chose the Sooners over 29 offers from Power Four squads, with 11 of those coming from SEC schools.

Driver’s an incredible athlete and shows the toughness that you need to be successful in the SEC. He wins with speed and displays strong route running. He’s got strong hands and is able to go above the rim to make catches over the top of defenders. At 6-foot-6 and 240 pounds, Driver has the size to make an immediate impact when he gets on campus.

This is a big recruiting win for the Oklahoma Sooners, which continues to put together an incredible class in the 2027 recruiting cycle. He’s the fifth top 100 prospect and third top 20 prospect the Sooners have earned a pledge from and they’re far from done.
