Oklahoma Sooners earn commitment from dynamic 2027 running back Jaxsen Stokes

The Oklahoma Sooners added to their top-ranked 2027 recruiting class on Friday afternoon, earning a commitment from three-star running back Jaxsen Stokes.
Stokes experienced a lot of Oklahoma football over the last couple of weeks, attending the Sooners' loss to Ole Miss, but also took a trip to Knoxville, where he saw the Sooners knock off the Tennessee Volunteers. Stokes is the sixth player committed to the Sooners in 2027 and the second skill position player from California, joining four-star wide receiver Demare Dezeurn.
Stokes has an elite offer sheet, which includes Notre Dame, Oregon, Penn State, Arizona State, USC, UCLA, Stanford, Kansas, Cal, and Tennessee.
The Sooners initially offered Stokes back in January of 2025, and the Sooners now have a pledge from the dynamic running back from the West Coast.
Stokes is a highlight reel with the ball in his hands. He displays great vision, speed, and lateral agility. He's a patient runner that's willing to take plays between the tackles but has the ability to bounce it wide in an instant. Stokes has the quickness to make defenders miss in the open field and has the contact balance to break tackles as well. Stokes is a home-run hitter in every sense of the word.
When he gets to campus, Stokes will have the opportunity to make an impact as a true freshman because he can make plays as a runner, receiver, and kick returner.
