The Oklahoma Sooners made another transfer portal addition on Monday evening, as they look to fill out their roster over the final week of the 2026 portal cycle.

Former Georgia State defensive lineman Bishop Thomas has committed to play for Oklahoma out of the transfer portal. Thomas played one year at Florida State in 2022, before playing at Colorado in 2023. He’s spent the last two seasons with the Panthers, and he had a big season as a redshirt junior in 2025.

Thomas tallied 48 tackles, 3.5 TFLs, 1.5 sacks and a pass defended in 2025. He arrives in Norman with one more year of eligibility remaining. He’ll help add depth at a defensive tackle position that needs plenty of it, and could play a big role for the Sooners in 2026.

Defensive tackle has been an undeniable strength for Oklahoma over the last couple of years, but seniors Gracen Halton and Damonic Williams are out of eligibility, and Markus Strong is transferring to Clemson. The Sooners are returning David Stone and Jayden Jackson, but they need more than just those two in that position group. Of the top five players in that room from a year ago, just two are returning for next season.

Thomas will now get to work with Todd Bates, one of the best defensive tackles coaches in all of college football, and he’ll provide a veteran presence behind Stone and Jackson, OU was nasty up front defensively last season, and the Sooners hope that doesn’t change in 2026.
