The Oklahoma Soonershave been winning big on the field as of late, and they’re also winning off of it, mainly on the recruiting trail, as December’s early signing day approaches for the 2026 recruiting class. OU’s success is also beginning to impact the 2027 class as well.
Oklahoma has received an RPM prediction from On3’s Steve Wiltfong to land three-star 2027 quarterback prospect Jamison Roberts out of Sarland High School in Mobile, Alabama. Roberts received an offer from the Sooners on Sunday.
Roberts stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 190 pounds as a junior in high school. He holds offers from Northwestern, Syracuse, Duke, and Auburn, among others. He’s currently the fourth quarterback in the ’27 class to receive an offer from the Sooners.
Four-star Nebraska commit Trae Taylor was offered in June of 2024 when Seth Littrell was still the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at OU. He committed to the Cornhuskers in May of this year. Zero-star recruit Jonathan Moore received an offer in March of this year from the Sooners, but he doesn’t profile as the likely future of the position, as his only other offers are currently from Kent State and Sacramento State.
New OC/QBs coach Ben Arbuckle made four-star prospect Peyton Houston his top priority in the ’27 class, but Houston committed to LSU over OU earlier this season. However, with head coach Brian Kelly and OC Joe Sloan getting fired for the Tigers since then, and a new regime coming to Baton Rouge this winter, perhaps Arbuckle could flip Houston before December of 2026.
Oklahoma also hosted 2027 four-star QB prospect Dane Weber for a visit on Saturday for the win over Missouri, but the Sooners have yet to offer Weber, the 6-foot-2, 210-pound junior from Chaparral High School in Temecula, California.
With Roberts as the latest 2027 QB to earn an offer from the Sooners, there’s still plenty of time and plenty of twists and turns to go before we find out who will ultimately sign with Oklahoma in a little over 12 months. With just over a week to go until OU hopefully gets a signature from 2026 four-star QB commit Bowe Bentley, the Sooners might be in for another wild ride in quarterback recruiting in the 2027 class.
